Honey
This story comes from Jennie Hall, a One By One volunteer
I first met Honey while I was volunteering with One by One. His former owner was in a personal care home
and couldn't take Honey with her. He was also FIV, and no one wanted to adopt him. I decided to foster him
because being in a shelter is not good for a senior citizen cat who is also FIV. There is too much going
around, and their immune systems can't handle it.
I got Honey home and he was very shy. He hid from the other FIV kitties that I fostered on the
3rd floor of my house. I felt bad for him because he was so lonely, and would cry at the door. I
started to let him stay downstairs with me. It didn't take long for Honey to meld into the family
of cats I already had, and he is my constant shadow and companion when I am at home. He's so sweet,
with his head butts, his kisses, and even with his very smelly kitty breath. I just can't imagine
living without him or giving him away. I knew that he had found his forever home with me.
