ADOPT | a companion for life
We Care for Our Cats
All incoming cats are:
- vet-checked
- spayed/neutered
- brought up-to-date on vaccines
- socialized
- feline leukemia and FIV tested
We request a standard adoption form and there is a fee to adopt a cat/kitten.
Adopted cats must be kept indoors and may not be declawed. For more information about declawing your cat, please read what we have to say about declawing.
A pre-adoption home visit is required and follow-up phone calls and/or home visits are made to support a good match. If an adopted cat/kitten cannot be kept by the new owner, for whatever reason, it must be returned to One By One.
Please note we do not generally do out-of-state adoptions.
An on-line adoption form is available on our Petfinder home page – www.1by1.petfinder.org. Or you can…

One By One has many cats who have been with us for some time. They are the forgotten ones. The ones who grew up and are no longer as cute or frisky as the new kitten arrivals. Or they are the ones that are a little hesitant or shy and don’t attract attention to themselves. They just live out their lives at our facility while others, more flashy than themselves, move on to new homes. But those of us who take the time to get to know them and who love them for the individual beings that they are, realize that they are very special….each and every one of them. We HOPE, sometimes futilely, that they will, someday, know the love of their very own family. PLEASE take the time to browse all the way to the end of our list for dozens of hopeful faces just waiting to be loved.
